Designed, manufactured and approved in accordance with the Regulations of the International Association of Athletics Federations (WA Certificate: E-12-0680).
The cage consists of 5 vertical poles, each fixed to a steel base. This base has a sheet metal box with plastic drums filled with water inside, with a total capacity of 100 litres, which act as a counterweight. The 5 bases are joined together by various steel structures that facilitate the assembly of the whole.
The poles are made from an extruded aluminium profile with a circular section of 120 mm in diameter and have a groove in which the different auxiliary elements of the pole are fixed: the net lifting winch, the deflection pulleys and the eyebolt located in the upper part to which the tensioners are hooked.
The net (not included) is lowered by means of plastic hooks from a series of extruded aluminium profiles with a square section of 80 mm on each side that are connected to each other. This set of profiles is called “upper U-shaped frame”, and it has 5 hanging points that correspond to the 5 poles of the cage. At each of these points a tow-rope is hooked and wound on the winch of the corresponding pole. The coordinated action of the five winches results in the elevation of the upper U-shaped frame and therefore the net.
At ground level, the net is attached to another “lower U-shaped frame” made of steel, which has metal hooks for this purpose. This U-shaped frame includes some points of connection with the bases, to prevent the swaying of the net and U-shaped frame assembly against the impact of the throwing disc.
As the construction of concrete slabs is not necessary to anchor this cage, it is perfectly suitable for installation temporarily in any sporting facility.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Before placing the poles, the bases must be properly weighted using the counterweight drums included.
