The new athletics track for the Utilita Arena

After 31 years of honored service, the time has come for the track at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham to have a makeover. After all it was built in 1991! The city council has once again chosen Mondo: the construction of the new portable banked track has already started and will be installed in the Arena in time to host the 2023 athletic events. We welcomed to our office to peek at the pre -assembly of the track Laura Denham, Sports Events Manager at Birmingham City Council, Craig Jack and Robert White from DYNAMIK, our partner in UK. The first Mondo track, installed in 1991, has hosted all the national indoor sporting events since that year together with an edition of the European championships in 2007 and 2 editions of the world championships in indoor athletics, in 2003 and 2018; and again in this last edition, when the track was 27 years old, 6 championship records were broken! We are all looking forward to seeing the new track installed in the Utilita Arena!
