Whitworth University Installs a New Mondo Super X 720 Track
Whitworth University installed a Mondo Super X 720 track in the fall of 2022, at
Puryear Field at the Pine Bowl/Boppell Track but couldn’t enjoy it much before the first winter snow fell. Toby Schwartz, head track and field and cross country coach at the Spokane university, said everyone loved the Mondo track during the little time they could spend on it, and that the athletes felt the difference between the Mondo track and their previous track. He also said they are very excited about having a Mondo track, which is the track of the Olympic Games.
Installed by Wall 2 Wall Commercial Flooring, the new 400-meter outdoor track boasts eight running lanes, two sets of eight sprinting lanes, a pole vault lane, and two long jump/triple jump lanes, all in alternating crimson and gray colors, which Schwartz said everyone notices and comments on. With its vulcanized rubber construction, the Mondo Super X 720 surface provides the optimal blend of energy return, comfort, safety, and durability for everything from daily training to competitions.
According to Schwartz, everyone is looking forward to starting outdoor track season on the new Mondo track!
