Once again, the China Street Tour brought life to some of the most beautiful places in China with the first event being held in Chengdu.
The event was set up in a very short time in the beautiful square adjacent to the city concert hall and offered the large crowd present a unique show, designed to bring athletics in direct contact with the public, in the streets of the largest cities in China.
The tour began with pole vaulting with athletes of the highest caliber taking part in the competition: they included the pole vaulter Chen Qiaoling, gold medalist at the 2017 Asian Athletics Championships.
Since the first edition in 2017, MONDO has been the Official Tour Supplier, a role of great responsibility linked to the need to develop a solution that would allow a certified high level competition track to be installed and removed rapidly.

For the CAST organizing committee, MONDO proposed the loose-laid installation of rolls of Sportflex Super X 720 K39 mounted on wooden walkways which can be adapted to different layouts and vary from city to city.
"The track is installed on structures that are on average 50/60 cm off the ground: a sort of raised walkway that allows the public to enjoy the event just as though they are on a stage. The urban context requires very quick assembly and disassembly times for which a team of MONDO technicians (2/3 people) coordinates teams of local technicians.

Sports events in urban contexts offer unique interaction between the public and athletes, but pose specific problems, both for the installation areas and their itinerant nature.
