In Savona the international athletics starts again on MONDO track.
The
International Meeting of the City of Savona starts again with momentum at the Fontanassa Stadium: on May 18th the appointment, at its 11th edition, is renewed with ever greater expectation and interest.
The Savona Meeting has always been synonymous with great athletes, outstanding organization and, last but not least, a Mondo athletics track, ready to support the athletes in their performance towards the finish line.
The event organized by Cus Savona and Cus Genoa will have as usual a cast of the highest order, set up by the organizational director of the meeting Marco Mura: a flurry of races of great technical value, condensed into two hours packed with emotion.
The Mondo track at the Fontanassa stadium in Savona,
Mondotrack, was installed in 2012, with the fundamental contribution of Cus Savona, determined to revive the promotion of athletics. The Meeting was renamed that year in memory of Giulio Ottolia and for ten years now the Fontanassa track has been making the history of Italian athletics with records and excellent performances, especially as regards jumps and sprints.
Mondotrack is the spearhead of the Mondo range of athletics tracks: created in its first version for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, it set 5 world records on that occasion. The Mondotrack range has then evolved over the years, from SX to WS for the Rio Olympics, in 2016, and then the
WS-TY version (2019), installed in the
Tokyo Olympic Stadium, on which 3 jaw-dropping records have been broken and a staggering number of stellar performances have taken place.
Recently, the Fontanassa track has undergone a meticulous cleaning session that in past years has provided excellent results in terms of performance and continues to affect the longevity of the facility: the positive feedback has been compiled
in this text.
Mondo will be present at the Savona event, not only with its track, but also with
the sports equipment provided in previous years.
