After nine days of thrilling action at the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23, the statistics tell the story about how successful the athletics track supplied by Mondo was with the 2100 competitors from 195 nations.
Budapest 23 was the 13th World Athletics Championships for which MondotrackTM WS athletics track was chosen from the local organizing committee to be the focal point of the action, and Mondo is proud to say it is an Official World Athletics Supplier.
Many of the biggest names in Budapest – both on the track and in the field – who were medal winners or came close in the Hungarian capital’s National Athletics Centre hailed the track and its outstanding performance properties.
Gabby Thomas (US): women’s 200m silver medallist: “The track is really fast, it really is. And there's great energy.”
Rai Benjamin (USA), 400n hurdles bronze medallist: “The track feels great. It is phenomenal.”
Adrian Ben (ESP), men’s 800m 4th place: “I can't find the words to describe how wonderful this is. The stadium is incredibly beautiful, the track is perfect.”

The MondotrackTM WS athletics track helped enhance the excitement and enjoyment of more than 400,000 spectators who watched the World Athletics Championships in-person and the hundreds of millions glue to their televisions and digital devices around the world.
Mondo provided an athletics surface that gave elite athletes the chance to perform at their very best throughout the entire competition and MondotrackTM WS energy-return properties meant athletes were still able to dig deep as their event came to a climax.
Demonstrating this, one aspect of Budapest 23 that will be long remembered will be the drama in the final round of many of the field events.
Venezuela’s Yulimar Rojas memorably bounded out to15.08m with her last effort in the triple jump to move up from eighth place and clinch her fourth successive world title.
Japan’s Haruka Hitaguchi and Australia’s Mackenzie Little were 3rd and 6th before the last round of the women’s javelin but produced throws that secured them the gold and bronze medals.
Mondo was very much in the midst of the action in Budapest 23 and is now looking forward eagerly to providing the best athletics track in the world at the next athletics events: the first event will take place in Brussels, on the new Mondo track installed for the occasion of the Allianz Memorial Van Damme: will the new Mondo track be able to exceed the expectations of the one installed years ago which has a series of amazing performances behind it? We'll find out in a few days.
At the end of October great expectations hang over the athletics competitions for the Pan American Games scheduled in Santiago de Chile; also in this case the local organizing committee chose a Mondo athletics track.
